I have been searching on google lately cause one thing keeps me thinking. Me and my buddies are about to form a guild. But our tastes of characters are various. Many of us want to be Dark elves, a great majority wants to be human, and there are woodelves, others.
My question still remains unanswered. Will a dark-elf and human be able to stand side-by-side on a Pvp server? Will they be able to guild with each other?

Probably in the FFA PvP servers, but on the team servers humans and dark elves are opposite factions.

On the team server you will not be able to get your friend on defensive target for heals or buffs. You will also not be able to group with them. You can not attack the same enemy either.

As far as Humans go, you could always try the Barbarian races, I suppose... They're on the same side as the Dark Elves.

It's a hard choice though and different sides in a faction based PvP server are always somewhat of a pain. :-) Heh, Albion wasn't my first choice for DAoC, but since most of my friends were going there...

You would have to play on Tharradin the FFA pvp server. You can group/guild anyone.

Ok guys. I'm new to this site (registered today) and I've posted topics on various other Vanguard affiliated websites looking for PvP information. I seek knowledge about the limited types of PvP servers that will be available at launch. Maybe some insight? Pretty please before I shoot myself.

What are the differences between the PvP server: Tharridon and the alt PvP server: Varking?

Which one is free for all Pvp, mash em to bloody bits?

What is the ruleset for the other one? Is it continent vs. continent? Is it race vs race?
Good guy/bad guy? and if so, who is who? I'm guessing high elves are the elite goodness of bla bla bla and maybe orcs & goblins are evil (can ya tell which way I roll, heh).

Anyway, time is running out, I have a ventrilo crew begging me to choose our new home, a game stop manager telling HE wants PROOF that I can get in the game 3 days before launch (which I printed out and will be PERSONALLY delivering tomorrow after work. Yes, again with the evil), and I'm frantically searching all of these websites looking for PvP info.

Anyone able to give me valid information? Perhaps a link to specific Sigil released pvp data?
I will personally shout out WICKED LOVE to anyone that can help me!

And yeah, though I walk through the Valley of The Shadow of Death, I will fear no Horde..

And what is great about FFA servers?
There is always an idiot who finds you when you craft, or there is always a griefer who takes you down, not for the money, just to do not grow as big as him, or for simple pleasure.

Aazgaroth -

This is how I understand it (and I am no expert so this may not be accurate):

The team servers (alt) are split into two teams. The teams are not relative to your realm/continent, so as an example, if you roll a kitty, your enemies will consist of Qaliathari, Gnomes, and Morbedi (somewhat consistent with the questlines to start with) who share a continent with you. Additionally, towns controlled by these races will be hostile towards you and others in your team, however you can work to gain positive faction. The more members of your team to gain positive faction in a certain enemy town through whatever available methods or acts of diplomacy, the easier it is to take the town. The more towns on the opposing team's side that are not safe for them, the bigger gain your side has. This system allows you to also be able to travel to other regions and find a safe haven, so you are able to enjoy the PVE aspecs of the game and realistically advance your character instead of facing the constant griefing from your own race without any faction to protect you.

Again, this is my understanding of how it will work based on the little information available...I am a littl disappointed that there are only two teams on the alt servers...personally what interested me the most about Vanguard PVP to start with was the return to the DaoC KVK concept of having 3 equally opposed sides, so there is opportunity for neutral alignment and no discenrable good vs. evil. But hey, we will see how this plays out eh?

I have been looking for days for an endefinet answer to the PVP style in Vanguard, and personally I can't find the set guildlines either:(

Also from Daoc I am very very very into the PVP style of play... spending the majority of my time killing others.

If you have found a sight that better lists the rules and guidlines to PVP could you post it for me? TY

the sides are shadow and order and it runs like this...

dark elf, barbarians, and pretty much anything that's not cute and fuzzy is shadow

order has all the humans all the elves other then dark elf, gnomes, dwarves and the little fox things (sorry not good with names)

if someone knows these names please fill them in

if you do a FFA server it's everyone vs everyone you can group up with people if you want or can kill them, on team PvP you cannot group with the enemy however you can trade/talk or help with pve (aslong as you don't hit them) and i think you can invite them to your guild too

Why does one faction have 3 more races than the other? I hope my lesser giant can smash all the extras coming for me!

Depends on how you look at it, Aluard has three elf classes, Shadow has Orc and dark Elf, along with the animal-esque races, people will be drawn alot to Shadow, I think.

I dunno, I haven't slept in like 36 hours.
