"He will be seething for a couple days. It's an insult to be overpowered." Logara told him. "Separating us will aggravate him more, but once the mission is over he'll understand."

yusnak spotted jak in the shadows chewing somthing. yusnak approched him, realising that trying to pair up with a human might not be the best idea in these cercumstances and as probably marius wasnt thinking straight from his recent berserking fit.

"It apears to be me and you then jak," yusnak said unphased by what jak was eating, to some of the other races what yusnak's species ate probably discusted them too "We should get moving." yusnak picked up a plasma pistol and a human pistol "it will be close quaters inside. you might want to get a shorter range weapon."

Jak gulped down the last of the meat leaving nothing but half of the body still on the bones of the dead grunt. "Yeah that's why I have my Needler. But an extra gun never hurt." Jak said picking up a Human pistol.

Kopaka walked along next to Rolm, feeling much more comfortable next to the sangheili. They moved through the halls silently, methodically opening all the doors they passed hoping to find any remaining assassins.

After a couple uneventful minutes they caught a jiralhanae with his back turned. Kopaka swung his shield into it's back, breaking bones and sending it across the room. Before it could hit the ground, Rolm sprayed it with plasma fire. It tried to recover and fight back but fell to another strike from the lekgolo.

Austin and the ODST's stalked through the building, clearing room after room. After five empty rooms they came across a group of five Kig-Yar feasting on a group of corpses. Switching back to his SMGs, Austin whispered into his COM.

"Anders, with me. Smoke 'em!"

The Spartan and ODST stormed the room, firing bursts of SMG fire into the enemies. Three Kig-Yar fell, and Austin smashed one more in the face with his boot, sending its corpse flying into the last one. Pushing the body off of it, the last alien went to shout for help.

"Oh no you don't!"

Anders tackled it, before stabbing it in the throat with his knife.

Standing up, he wiped the blood off on his leg armor, before placing the knife back in its sheath. He collected his SMG and followed Austin back into the hall to continue the sweep.

yusnak moved in from room to room clinging to the ceiling, he didnt want to cause to much noise. he approched a door with jak close behind. when ever they came to a new door, jak would stay to the side of the door while yusnak crawled in silently.

yusnak moved in and saw a jiralhanae with a small group of grunts and moved directly above them. Jak would likely be waiting for the to fire this first shot. He over charged his plasma pistol and as the jiralhanae looked up at the noise it hit him in the face along with a hail of bullets from yusnak's magnum.

Jak moved into the room and opened fire on the group of grunts between his new pitol and his knife they fell easily. "Next room?" Jak wispered to yusnak.

yusnak noded at jak and moved though some empty rooms. yusnak crawled to a door when he heard brutes speaking on the other side and the sound of running
"this way my pack brothers! the humans are ready for the slaughter!" shouted a jiralhanae in the next room

yusnak clicked on his com quietly
"demon, it sounds as if the brutes have found the human leader. Or at least a group of humans defending against the jiralhanae's assault," a brute from the next room grunted and sniffed at the door "requesting radio silence. Jak take cover."
the brute opened the door,gun ready, searching for what it had smelt. yusnak activated his camo and moved tot he corner of the ceiling
killing him would likely only alert the rest of the pack. we have to let him pass

yusnak stared at the brute willing him to leave unbenounced to there presence. Yusnak readied his beam rifle. puting his sidearms in leg holsters.

i woulnd have enough time to charge up the pistol if he spots me or jak. best to take him out in one shot if i have to.

he looked down the sights of his rilfe, hovering the crosshair over the brutes head. waiting.

the brute sniffed again, looked around once more. and left the room

"I understand. I meant it, though, all of you former Covenent need to let go of your hatred for us humans, or we're all gonna die. Hell, we've put our hate aside, and we actually had a reason to hate. Your hate for us was based on the prophets' lies. Do you, at least, understand what I'm trying to say?"

The call came in from yusnak, alerting them to the jiralhanae's actions and requesting radio silence. Then Logan heard something up ahead and whispered to Logara.

"Wait. Quiet a moment."

They both froze. Logan checked his HUD and sure enough, one red blip was moving on a perpendicular path toward their position; a jiralhane was coming down the intersecting hall ahead of them from the right. He motioned to Logara to round the corner behind them, the way they had come. He engaged active camoflage and held his breath as the brute came into view. It seemed to be searching or scouting. On that possibility, Logan changed his mind, having been about to give the thing an assassination. He stood perfectly still as the jiralhanae passed, continued down the hall, rounded another corner, and it's red blip disappeared. He turned and whispered again.

"Come on back, Logara."

Logara stepped around the corner and walked up to Logan. "It might have come from the direction of the assassins." He said, referring to the brute scout. He started down with Logan right next to him, thinking about what the Spartan had said.

"You humans have a great ability to forgive and to change yourselves. Lekgolo, not so much."

as after a few moments of waiting in case the brute came back Yusnak deavtivated his camo and came out of hiding

"i think it's gone," Yusnak click his com again " we should hurry demon things could be going worse than expected. I will move after the Jiralhanae with jak. They could lead us right to your leader."

yusnak began to follow the group of brutes, the searching brute seperated from, causiously in the same pattern as before. hopfully it wont be too long untill he finds where their going

Jak jogged after Yusnak with a brief wave to Logan and Logara. "This Yan-me'e giving me my exercise for the day." He mumbled as he went from pillar to pillar to avoid being seen.

Logara watched Jak and Yusnak go past, keeping stealthy. "We'll find another way around." He said to Logan and started in another direction.

Logan and Logara turned into a new hall and Logan's motion tracker went nuts with red dots; they were slightly ahead in the hall of the Senate.

"Calling all units, calling all units! Come to my position, double time, we got a whole other squadron!"

Austin's voice came in.

"But I thought-"

"Screw stealth, get here!"

yusnak heard the call and imediately turned around and flew over to logan and logara and taking posstion in cover

"you called demon" he glance out his head out of cover to see the new threat and quickly moved back in

"Logara, we need support, now. Is there any way you can commune with Kopaka and tell him the situation and it's urgency?"

"He's already on his way." Logara said. He positioned himself ahead of the group, with his shield up. Tense seconds passed, and then Kopaka's heavy footsteps could be heard echoing through the hall. He ran around a corner and took the turn a little too fast, going into a skid and cutting up the marble floor, then regained balance and took his place next to Logara. Rolm ran around the corner a second later, seeming thankful to know why the lekgolo had suddenly started to run with no audible provocation.

Logan and the entire team stood outside the door, which led to the top tier of the Senate Hall.

"By now, they know we're here. Attack together in three, two, one..."

He kicked the door down and opened fire. From somewhere to his right, he heard a human voice scream.

"Oh, shit! A Chieftan!"

hearing the human and seeing the open space yusnak finds some cover and pulls out his beam rifle and double taps the cheiften in the head the activates his camo and moves to a new postion.

there could be enemey snipers, and they wont be tracing my shots

after moments in a new postion yusnak fires again, taking out an jackle sniper, and moves again. as he gets to his new postion a beam rilfe shot flies past him, he narrowly dodges it. they were sharp. Yusnak moved, knowing they would be aiming there, he ziged zaged as he found his new spot, they could likely see the distortion from his camo. HE fires again, taking out another jackle and moves again.

yusnak whisperd a happy chitter to himself

the game was on.

Austin rolled through, SMGs at the ready. Opening fire, he angered a group of Jiralhanae and perforated a squad of unggoy, before rolling behind a chair to reload.

"Cover me, reloading!"

Jak pulled out his rifle thankfully he still had some ammo for it. He fired twice. One Kig-Yar fell along with a unggoy. This would be a lot easier if I could fly. He thought as several shots just missed him.

Jeff heard the call come in through the comm in his helmet. He ran as fast as he could behind the Spartan he and the other ODSTs were with. Not wanting to arrive in the middle of a firefight out of breath, Jeff slowed his pace a bit, and arrived about a minute after the Spartan did.

Taking cover beside the opening to the room, he found himself panting a little bit. These Spartans sure do like to give me a workout. Leaning out from his cover he fired bursts into the enemy below. He tried picking off some of the grunts and jackals, leaving the bigger enemies for the Spartans and the larger Aliens. His pride was a little hurt at the idea of giving away the bigger targets but he knew it was for the better, any other ODST wouldn't have thought that way. Pride was a big thing for them.

After taking two plasma beams to the head, the Chieftan, thoroughly pissed, charged as Logan provided covering fire. Logan concentrated assault rifle fire on him and his shields fell as he reached Logan's tier. Out of ammo, he tossed it aside and planted his feet, a defiant fighting stance.

"Come on. COME ON! YOU WANT ME? COME ON!"

As the chieftan reached him, Logan stepped forward, kicking at his stomach with all his might. The chieftan gave the single most predictable response of all time: he hit Logan with his gravity hammer.

Logan flew thirty feet, he could feel the ribs in his right side breaking. He landed at a wierd angle. That's a broken leg. Head swimming from the pain, Logan raised his old style pistol and shot at the head of the chieftan, now raging at the rest of the squad. He managed to shoot the brute's helmet off before slipping out of consciousness.

Austin cursed as Logan hit the wall.

"Logan? Logan, respond! Damnit!"

He placed his SMGs on his thighs and slid his combat knife out of its sheath.

"Take this!"

The spartan sprinted at the chieftan, before jumping and pushing off of a chair and tackling the beast.

"Raaagh!"

Austin grabbed it by the shoulder and jammed his knife into it, before getting flung into yet another chair. Dizzy, he grabbed his pistols and fired at it, the bullets pinging off armor as it approached him.

While it was in the midst of attacking Austin, Kopaka fired a capsule at the chieftain. It stopped short of the explosion and turned it's attention away from the Spartan. Kopaka raised his shield in time to catch a strike from the gravity hammer. The concussion rippled through his body, making the individual eels writhe.

Logara felt the strike through their bond and leapt for the jiralhanae. He raised his shield in midair and swept it down with his fall, striking the chieftain on the shoulders. It staggered forward, then unexpectedly swung the hammer around horizontally. It connected with Logara's cannon, blasting it to pieces as the volatile fuel ignited. Green flame sprayed in a wide arc, pushed by the shockwave of the hammer.

Kopaka roared in outrage, and twisted his body to spear the chieftain. He swung the razor tip of his shield down, then up into the brutes torso. It sunk into hard muscle, once; then again and again, filleting the chieftain. It stumbled to the ground, bitterly trying to keep fighting. The whole left side of it's body was destroyed. It raised it's hammer for a last strike, but Kopaka just batted it aside and proceeded to fire a long stream of fuel onto it's body, then watch it burn. Logara joined him, ignoring the fight still surrounding them. His arm, chest, and leg was charred black on the side where the cannon had been. After five full seconds, they turned back to the disarrayed assassins.

yusnak fired a shot though the last snipers head, he had been slowly picking them off as they had not be able to predict his patterns.

he became dimly aware of what had just happend below and moved to cover the group, pick off those that were trying to get in close.

the enemy was dissorintated from the lost of the chieften, so there was little resistance, yusnak managed to take out a small group of brutes in the confusion before they managed to regroup

"how is the collossus?" yusnak chirrupted over his com "do your require assistance?"

Jeff put the battle rifle back in its place on his back and pulled out his Assault Rifle. He made his way into the room as quickly as he could, providing covering fire for the group below. The enemy was in disarray from the death of the Chieftain but that didn't mean some of them wouldn't take a shot at the injured group.

Jeff soon arrived beside his allies and used what he could for cover as he continued to fire with his assault rifle. The fight wasn't going to last much longer. Pausing to reload his Assault Rifle Jeff looked back at the group, noticing the injuries. "Is anyone seriously injured?" He then noticed Logan lying on the ground, unconscious or dead Jeff wasn't sure. "Is he alright?"

Logan's voice came in over the COM, pained and extremely weak.

"Gonna need... new... ribcage... call Dr.... Halsey... have her... clone me one..."

The COM went dead again as Logan slipped back out of consciousness.

"human, do you have anything to ease his pain?" said Yusnak adressing jeff as he flew away from a burst of plasma and into cover "we need him for this mission."

yusnak took aim and blew the head off another brute

Austin pulled himself up, coughing.

"N-no...he's too heavily wounded. I'll take command for now."

He took cover, keying his COM into Halsey's frequency.

"Ma'am, this is Spartan-091. Spartan-187 is badly wounded, he'll need a new ribcage."

He switched back to TeamCOM.

"Yusnak, continue sniping. ODSTs, lay down support fire. EVERYONE ELSE, CHARGE! LOGARA AND KOPAKA UP FRONT!"
